On Country: Stories of Gunditjmara Elders
Uncle Robbie Lowe (Senior) shares how he was taught to make and use spears, boomerangs, message sticks and other important artefacts as a child. Uncle Robbie also speaks about growing up on Framlingham Mission and the treatment of his family when they moved into town (Warrnambool). We sat yarning with Uncle Robbie in the Swan Reserve where he shared some of the history of the site during colonisation. The site once was Warrnambool's sale yards, it is now a significant contemporary space made to commemorate the clans of the Gunditjmara peoples.
