Animated gestures and line drawings describe forces of physical and biological systems that interact to shape Antarctica. The systems include diatoms, krill, sea butterflies (pteropods), seals, albatrosses, humans, bottom water circulation, the circumpolar current, ice melting and sea levels rising.
In Antarctica, circles, spirals and crosses describe an ancient choreography that only recently includes humans. Since pre-history and as children we have used these forms to express our connection to the natural world. Here they are used to combine scientific information with subjective responses to the environment.
