Henry A. J. Ramos, Senior Editor and Project Consultant at Arte Público Press, hosted the fourth and final in a series of four virtual discussions gathering social impact innovators, thought leaders and changemakers to outline a progressive new vision for next-generation civic engagement, economic security, justice and shared prosperity in the United States.
For this discussion, Ramos welcomed Deborah Frieze, Founder and President of the Boston Impact Initiative Fund; Dr. Darrick Hamilton, Professor of Economics and Urban Policy at The New School for Social Research; and Carla Javits, President and CEO of the Roberts Enterprise Development Fund.
Together, the panel discussed increased opportunities for upward mobility, community-building reinvestment and environmental sustainability, along with expanding workforce development, household economic independence and socially-responsible investment at the local, regional and national levels.
Presented in partnership with Arte Público Press, this virtual discussion series is part of a research and public engagement project led by author and researcher Henry A. J. Ramos to surface actionable ideas for reinvigorating American democracy and prosperity sharing in the 21st century.
His forthcoming book, Democracy and the Next American Economy: Where Prosperity Meets Justice, will be published by Arte Público Press on April 30, 2019. Visit artepublicopress.com for details.
