Did you ever happen to get hold of "Cozze Cotte in Sabbia Bollente" italian for mussels cooked in hot sand. We were fortunate to taste them. On one of those sunny days on a cute little beach of Ischia. This beach lies just on top of a volcanic source and is hot enough to cooked whatever you bury under it. See how there's a box of mussels turn into a feast of joy. There's not much needed to bring people together and enjoy good life.
