Ghandikota Aryama comes from a family which has been blessed to be followers of Bhagavan Baba for 4 generations, since the late 1950s. His grandfather, Sri Ghandikota Subrahmanya Sastry, was a Vedic Pandit and scholar to whom the Sai Gaayathree was revealed. His father, Sri Ghandikota Subba Rao, was a Sanskrit scholar to whom the Sai Surya Gaayathree and Sai Hiranyagarbha Gaayathree were revealed. Swami called the three Gaayathrees as SaiThree. Sri Subba Rao worked as an economist in the United Nations, NY for 33 years and retired as Director of the Energy Division in 1985. He was one of the founders of the Ganesh Temple, Flushing, the Sai Center, Flushing, and the Sai Center, United Nations. His mother, Mrs. Lakshmidevi Subba Rao, brought up five boys in New York City, and was an exemplar of "Love All, Serve All". Swami assured all three of Liberation.
Aryama is a consulting electrical systems engineer and has studied, worked and traveled worldwide. He came to the United States with his parents in 1952. He first met Swami in 1959. His Upanayanam (religious initiation into the Gayathree Mantra and daily prayers) was conducted in Prasanthi Nilayam by Swami in 1963. Aryama and his wife Bala couldn't have children for 17 years after marriage, until Swami blessed them with 2 sons, Jayavardhan and Aryavardhan, and a daughter Vijayasri. Aryama owes everything to Swami's Grace.
Aryama is a member of the team for the web site SaiDarshan.org, started in 1995 with Swami's blessings. He attends the Sai Center, East Brunswick, NJ, and is an adviser for the Sarva Dharma Service Center and Sai Mandir being constructed in Howell, NJ.
