Sunday, October 21, 2018. First Baptist Church, Burlington, Kansas. Pastor Jay Hale. God initiated the Passover when the Israelites were getting ready to flee Egypt. Passover is a time of remembrance, remembering the time when God freed the Israelites from Egypt. In Mark 14:22-24 we read where Jesus initiated the Lord’s Supper as a time to remember His betrayal and crucifixion. The broken bread represents His broken body and the grape juice represents His shed blood. The Lord’s Supper is a serious and solemn time. In 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 we read that we need to have a right heart before we take the Lord’s Supper. It is not something we should do lightly or without thought.
