The concept for this artwork evolved from an unbreakable bond between picture and sound. In his "classical" approach, the artist/VJ is drawing and following sound at the same time during a live concert, representing an illustrated picture/sound patchwork that differs somewhat from the traditional definition of VJing and automated software-created pieces (video clips, etc).
Also, sound produced in the process of drawing (sound made by the contact of the pen and the surface) is transmitted via a microphone to the amplifier and blends with the audio background and beats in a way that allows the musician to "follow" the picture.
Rhythm created by the illustrator collides together with the musical elements (drums, guitars and other combined instruments processed by AbletonLive) to result in an unique AV experience.
Nedžad Ajkić: "During a 'visual concert', I'm drawing, while the microphone mounted next to the tablet is recording the sounds made by the pen and the tablet surface. This creates "le son du dessin", or "sound of the drawing".
