Gael Towey is the former creative director of Martha Stewart Living and the founder of Gael Towey and Co. Gael designed the inaugural issue of the magazine, initiating the magazine’s distinct and iconic visual style that would give life to the joy of creativity for the next 22 years and counting.
After 22 years at the creative helm of Martha Stewart Living, Gael stepped away in order to pursue her long-standing interest in narrative. “Today I am endeavoring to translate those 20+ years of experience as a creative director and editor into short form profiles and I am working on a long form documentary about photography.”
Her great love is storytelling. “Portraits in Creativity,” the series of short-form documentary videos she directed and produced, seeks to capture the bravery of artists and artisans, and reveals the visual seduction of the creative process.
