On October 18, 2018, ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability convened the Talanoa Dialogue Denver at the Alliance Center in Denver, where Morgynne D’Sulueti Tora performed her poetry. Talanoa is a traditional word used in Fiji and across the Pacific to reflect a process of inclusive, participatory and transparent dialogue. The purpose of Talanoa is to share stories, build empathy and to make wise decisions for the collective good. Through these dialogues, government and stakeholders will come to the table in around 40 countries to drive forward multilevel climate action worldwide. A readout from this dialogue will feed into climate negotiations at COP 24.
