The Man Who Fell to Millom is a science fiction film set in Millom on the West Coast of Cumbria, UK. The film gathers together textures of the Cumbrian landscape, memories of its people and the contradictory sounds of nature and technology & tells an absurd tale of a strange creature and the humanoid who pursues it. The Man Who Fell to Millom is atmospheric rather than mimetic and the Cthulhu-like creature might trouble an industrial past or a nuclear present. A fragment of a favourite Norman Nicholson poem, Shingle, appears in the film.
