The following podcast is an amalgamated collection of known facts about the disappearance of Emma Fillipoff, which includes interviews with Emma’s mother, Shelley Fillipoff, and a new witness, William. Researched, written and narrated by Kimberly Bordage, Shelley Fillipoff’s lead researcher and marketing manager.
This November 28, 2018, will mark 6 years since Emma Fillipoff vanished from downtown Victoria, BC on Nov. 28th, 2012. Police located Emma standing barefoot by The Empress Hotel and spoke with her for 45 minutes before determining she was safe to continue on her way. She told them she was simply taking a walk then heading to see a friend. Emma was never seen again, and the only piece of evidence, the prepaid credit card she purchased on the morning she disappeared, was used five days later at a gas station in Colwood, BC.
A new witness has come forward with information that reveals Emma was headed in the direction of Colwood, still shoeless, at 5:15 a.m. on November 29Th, 2012. This compelling information helps to trace more of Emma's steps that night and has inspired a volunteer search of the area to begin in December of 2018.
The Victoria Police Department are unable to investigate this new/old lead, therefore Shelley and a volunteer have requested the assistance of reputable search dog handler, Kim Cooper.
(bfdogtraining.ca/instructors/kim-cooper/) Kim is a Veteran of over 250 searches for missing persons and was Featured in CBC Podcast “Someone Knows Something” and National Geographic’s “Finding Dial”.
Another of Shelley's volunteers, advocate and videographer, Kimberly Bordage, will also assist with the search and document any findings. A tentative search date has been set for Dec 1 to Dec 3. Being that this is a volunteer search, there must be enough money to help cover the cost of flights and accommodations, therefore Shelley Fillipoff and her team have created a GoFundMe fundraising campaign in the hopes of getting the public's assistance.
We thank everyone for listening. Please feel free to share the link to this podcast. If you wish, you can support the planned search by going to the GoFundMe campaign ( findemma.ca gofundme.com/find-emma ). We encourage everyone to share this link as we have only 30 days to reach our goal.
