On the Friday after Arthur's Day I met up with Master Brewer Fergal Murray in town who was checking out the pints in the pubs around the area and pulling a few pints himself! He was very happy with the standard and said "that the pint is in safe hands here in Galway". This was a much more chilled shoot and Fergal was very comfortable around the camera which made filming alot easier. Fergal was also judging the first "Perfect Serve" competition in O'Connells bar. The compeition had 8 of the most popular bar men and women from around Galway nominated by their local pub goers. The MC for the competition was Alan Short who was hilarious and kept the crowd happy with free pints! The competition was tough and in the end it went down to a 5 pint challenge for the two finalists. Fergal also offered up some facts about Guinness and how the prefect serve is important to make sure the pint is the same every time!
