'BLOW OUR TRUMPETS ANGELS' IS A LONDON ARTISTS PROJECTS FILM FOR
Last week a few of us got together quickly to make a short film. I wanted to capture the show and its energy at a particular time in its life. For me it's about dealing with the past, the personal and the professional, and challenging what you believe to be unacceptable. As Andria says, 'this is not a time to let our pain dominate', feelings echoed by Ruth Barnett - a holocaust survivor, who I interviewed Sunday before last.
The Brexit demo was filmed in 2016 in the aftermath of the Referendum. We were due to stage an ACT UP rally that day, but we ended up in amongst 10,000 people protesting over the vote, a far cry from the 700,000 who came out recently.
If you look carefully you'll catch a glimpse of the ACT UP banner and even a quote from Wolfgang Tillmans.
