In this series, CrossFit trainer and filmmaker Amit Tripuraneni travels around six major Asian cities, sampling the cuisine, learning about the culture and exploring the local CrossFit scene.
In Episode 2, Tripuraneni travels to Hong Kong, China, a bustling city of 7 million people with a diverse food scene and a notable CrossFit presence.
Hong Kong-born Ant Haynes, a 2014-2016 Regionals athlete who is the head trainer at CrossFit CFPT, has observed that many people in the city are deterred by the “physical hardship” of CrossFit.
“What people sometimes see and perceive of the gym is not really how it actually is,” Ant says.
Whether people want to improve performance or change body composition and “look good naked,” Ant hopes to educate everyone on the benefits of the CrossFit program, which can be modified for clients at any level of fitness.
