This video is based on common scenes taken from urban life: the observation of lights, traffic, facades, powerlines, railway tracks... The objects literally run into the static camera’s focus, recording without evaluation the world passing by: what ever comes, comes – what ever goes, goes. Thereby emerging systems fall apart as fast as they were generated. A digital workflow reduces this footage to its very contrast, leaving only the essential: motifs tighten up into constructive balk-like textures and rastered pixels, in order to organically melt again or dissolve into colour-fields by the very next moment. The sound was especially composed for this project by German composer/musician Carl Ludwig Huebsch. The tones follow or contrast the videos’ rhythms, using similar structures, though remaining independent. Please use headphones or an external sound system when listening.
