In early 2018 I was lucky to be able to experience some great fly-fishing on the North Island of New Zealand. In the middle of nowhere of paradise flows several small jungle creeks holding feisty little rainbow trout. Many such hidden little gems can be found for those who explore places off the beaten path. New Zealand is such a special place with both a wonderful ecosystem and amazing people. Treated with respect and kindness, the islands can give you some truly memorable experiences. Here are some moments I remember very clearly and with great fondness.
Music by New Zealand artist Andre William Owen, aka Krackatoa. The song "Battalion" is both dramatical and etheral, in my mind a good match for fly-fishing in paradise. Turn it down if you dont like it... :)
