Our Wine Buff Rebecca Chapa is tasting: Chateau Bellevue, Bordeaux Superieur 2009.
Deep ruby in color. On the nose, it’s very aromatic, with a concentrated character of mulberry, blackberry, cassis, hibiscus, and rose, with a hint of toastiness. On the palate, it explodes with the flavors of crushed raspberries, mulberries, cassis, the tannins come in later, but at first, it’s about dense black fruits. This is a full-bodied wine with bright, mouthwatering acidity. A very long finish. Would go well with game meats: elk or venison. Would also go well with a suckling pig, pork belly or homemade sausages.
