ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN IN ATTOLLO'S WORDS:
“If It's Never Been Done, Be the First.”
The Children Deserve a Chance Foundation, and its education initiative Attollo, enables high school juniors and seniors to strive to be the first, whether that's the first in their family to go to college, the first business owner in their grade or the first to step up and be a leader. The Foundation believes in the power of strong mentors, education and leadership skills, to be not only life-changing but community changing. In this vein, Attollo empowers students to become leaders in their communities through rigorous college-access programming and leadership development.
In short, Attollo scholars learn that "dreams don't work unless you do." Scholars like Taraje Whitfield, a first-generation college student, is now attending Princeton University on a full-scholarship because of his dedication and hard work. Scholars like Jade Grove, who graduated from American University, is now back in Lancaster as the first Scholar-Alum to work for Attollo. Jade understood the effort needed to get to where she is now. Scholars like Aniah Washington, who decided to attend Amherst College not only for herself but to also be the first positive role model for her younger sisters. Aniah knows her sisters are watching and she wants to be sure they are watching her succeed. Our Scholars understand... "if its never been done, be the first."
