sl0ppy:sec0nds is a video program developed by Ben Kinsley, Michelle Fried and Lauren Goshinski as a part of the 2011 VIA Music & New Media Festival. Like a group of kids playing the game of telephone, “sl0ppy:sec0nds” is a game of video telephone resulting in unexpected outcomes when using human filters.
Starting with 2 original videos created by Fried and Kinsley, 3 artists will have 5 days to remix/re-edit/re-imagine 30 seconds of audio/visual footage and pass their version on to someone else in the chain. Each artist must add to/remix that content but stick to the 30 second timecode. Thanks to Vimeo's privatization feature and ability to upload/download HD videos, artists cannot see what iterations have happened before the version they receive, nor after, but have access to equal quality footage, playing with the concept that "everything is a remix", Each sequential edit will screen during VIA's Main Event Saturday October 8, and will be available on Vimeo starting October 5, 2011.
