The idea for this video was born after it was revealed that in Kok-Zhailau, a picturesque plateau near Almaty (Kazakhstan), 10,000 trees were to be cut down. Going against public opinion, a ski resort is going to be built in their place. This forest is and has always been a favorite and much-loved place of all residents of the city. The construction of the ski resort will cause red book animals and birds to perish, and destroy the rare flora of the forest!
A boy named Almas is in the Kok-Zhailau forest. He bandages the wounds of the trees - the marks of death on hundreds of trees doomed to die. In Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, regardless of the weather, the boy protects and heals these trees. His mission is to save Kok-Zhailau. Will he succeed? Almas' heart is filled with deep pain and with an all-embracing feeling of love for this place. He is ready to merge with nature, and to sacrifice everything for it. We see his mother striving to help him. Will she manage to save Kok-Zhailau? And will she save her child?
The authors ask simple but important questions: what will we leave behind for future generations? Can people influence the course of events on a global scale?
