Janus is an open source and general purpose WebRTC Server. It provides WebRTC functionality as a core feature, while leaving other details (transports for the API, application logic for media, event reporting for monitoring / debugging) to pluggable modules. This modular nature allows Janus to be extended easily without having to reimplement a WebRTC stack from scratch. Example of such plugins can be implementations of applications like conference bridges, broadcasting services, SIP gateways and the like. The presentatio will introduce the architecture and some of the advanced features Janus provides, and introduce some of the related activities we've been working on lately (e.g. scalability considerations and large scale broadcasting).
