”Toisen sukissa / In each others socks” is a 9 min short film made for primary school children. It tells about the friendship between a Finnish boy (Jussi) and an immigrant girl (Amna). The purpose of the film is to awaken empathy among children as well as awareness and discussion about immigration.
This audiovisual work is a combination of video, photo, drawing, simple animation and a unique sound world. It was created by visual artists Keanne van de Kreeke and Andréa Vannucchi and musician Laura Naukkarinen.
In 2019 we will be touring schools and keeping workshops related to the work.
The project was supported by the city of Salo and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike).
