On Saturday October 8th, 2011 I went down to Westlake Park to join in and take video of the Occupy Seattle protest. Around 5pm the peaceful group marched to the Bank of America tower. Seattle Police were professional, blocking automotive traffic from interfering with the march. After a rally, the group marched back to 4th and Pike where hundreds of protesters blocked the street for approximately half an hour. The crowed eventually dispersed, but two people refused to leave and were eventually arrested.
Contrary to many reports from this event, I saw a very consistent message from protesters: Hold people in Wall Street accountable, no more bank bailouts, and economic/tax fairness.
