Made by Many completely re-invented, redesigned and re-built the V&A’s digital experience, brand and technology platform.
We started with small experiments to prove how much impact we could create, and this gave the museum the confidence to get us to completely re-think the entire V&A digital experience.
We inspired new international audiences, improved access to the collection, supported exhibitions, galleries and events in new ways, increased visits and revenue and built an in-house digital team that we incubated, trained and then mentored. This gave the museum all of the technology, product, design and content skills needed to determine its own digital future.
Two years in and the entire cost of the work on website, events calendar, ticketing and online store was repaid by an annual increase in visitor numbers of 350,000 attributed directly to the V&A's digital platform. In year 1 alone the platform returned three times the initial investment in revenue terms. Our work led directly to a 30% increase in page-views and 6.7% increase in physical visits to the museum.
