Did a camera & workflow test at the weekend using my Canon 550d, Avid DNxHD codec and premiere CS5. Me cooking Sunday meal (filming at the same time).

All shot 1080p at 30fps with my 50mm 1.4, transcoded to AVID DNX using streamclip & conformed to 25fps in Premiere.

Conclusions:
Need more batterys or a grip for shooting video it drains the battery loads more than still photography.

AVID DNX is a really nice intermediate codec & Premiere with the mercury playback is really nice. Everything plays back in real time which coming from aftereffects is really a sweet change of pace. Integration with AFX is really good as well though the shortcuts are a bit inconsistant.
