A fully functional prototype of a DJ/music production game exhibited at the Hyper Island HI10 exhibition in 2010. Mega DJ Man 2000 is a multi-touch tangible user interface project that uses the Reactivision framework, complete with tabletop projection and camera tracking of fiducial markers. Our goal is to represent music production in a way that is intuitive and fun for users who interact with our tabletop project. To do this, users simply start the game by placing their flyer on the surface, and place musical blocks down on the control surface in time with the beat counter, with the primary objective being to fill up the dancefloor with people. The blocks can be pushed up and down to control volume levels, rotated to trigger new sound effects, and even flipped around to trigger new sound clips.
