We are delighted to publish online our film 'In The Pink - World War One Stories from the Gaunless Valley' made in association with the Evenwood, Ramshaw and District History Society.
The film tells the story of some of the 244 servicemen from the area who died in the war, life on the home front and what happened to some of those who came home safely.
The film was made over a year with research provided by Kevin Richardson (Chairman) and members of the history society along with many others providing information and photographs.
The script was written by Kevin Richardson & Rosie Anderson and narration was done by members of the society.
The film has been shown at 14 schools, village and church halls in the Gaunless Valley area with an audience of over 700 and dvd sales of almost 450. The society has also provided talks to local schools on the subject of World War One.
We are very grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund for making the project possible.
We hope you enjoy watching the film and we welcome any comments you wish to make.
