Nacascolo is a remote, rural community in Nicaragua, home to 65 families with a total population of 350. AMOS serves 25 communities like Nacascolo by providing basic healthcare where it is a hard-to-acquire luxury. In 2008, The First Baptist Church of Washington, D.C. donated funding in the memory of church member Evelyn Shockey to support the construction of a health clinic in Nacascolo for five years. FBC DC also participated in the construction of the actual clinic building, and over the next few years other churches participated in the clinic construction, including FBC Petersburg, FBC Cleveland, North Hills Community Baptist Church, and Discovery Team ABC-International Ministries. We thank all of you for being a part of this ministry, and contributing to health and hope in the remote rural community of Nacascolo.
