This is my 5 min-version of our 2006 documentary 'Concrete Castles' ('Bunkerburgen', original duration 15 min.).
All around the Borders of the Czech Republic bunkers as big as a family home remain as leftovers - and remainders - from their efforts to protect themselves against the Nazi aggressors in the 1930s. More than 10.000 of these bunkers they built. Today, after even the cold war is over, nobody needs them anymore. So the Czech army gave them away - for free.
Some people live there, far away from civilization, behind 5 meters of soundproof concrete, and think about the place of the Czech Republic in Europe. Now that it was just attached to that political structure called European Union.
