I was stationed in New York during the war. Susie, my wife, had never been there. I wanted her to see New York. It had changed somewhat since I was there in 1941. But I wanted to let her have a bite of the "Big Apple." In 1941 our Navy PBYs flew from Floyd Bennet Field over the Atlantic looking for German subs who were having a field day sinking our shipping.
Susie loved New York!
