Chatbags - A Plum Pie Media Project.
Plum Pie Media worked with a group of children who were in care to produce this documentary which aims to give their opinions about the quality of their care - to the people who govern it.
The young people were taught how to animate in a stop-motion style using plasticine models that they made themselves. Using simple software and digital video cameras, the group were able to animate several seconds of footage and then perform an interview, where they gave their own opinions about their social workers and the quality of their care.
Within the interviews, the young people give honest praise and criticisms of their care, leading to improvements to social services, whilst retaining the young people's anonymity.
The film has been well-recieved nationally and has provided an engaging and thought-provoking way to acquire feedback from children in foster care.
The film was created in 2008.
