A segment about Girls' Night Out which aired on the "Connections" show Oct. 10 on WCVB-TV Channel 5 Boston:
The idea that women enjoy women's company is not new but it is growing more important. On September 24th, scores of young mothers crowded into Project Hope on Dudley Street in Dorchester, Massachusetts to participate in the second Girls Night Out sponsored by the Boston Public Health Commission and Liz Walker's Better Living Campaign to promote mental wellness.
Women are increasingly struggling to hold onto dwindling jobs, fractured families and their own self worth. They need all the support they can get. Judging from the response of the women in Dorchester, these public conversations are a good idea and a wonderful way to create and sustain community. Here's the story we put together on Girls' Night Out 2.
