somebodies dance theater's latest and continuously evolving project, "Field," uproots the common misconception that there is a right way and a wrong way to interpret a choreographer's work. The dance asks two primary questions. To audiences: what role can you play in determining the meaning of the piece? And to performers: what happens when you decide to strip away layers of artifice? what happens when you add them? Featuring an original score and performance for violin by Kristopher Apple, "Field" showcases the artistic directors of somebodies dance theater, Gina Bolles Sorensen and Kyle Sorensen, in a live exchange of movement, sound, and words. The dance weaves together set choreography with an improvisational approach to presence.
