To Kill A King
'My Crooked Saint'
My Crooked Saint is a four-peice music video/drama set over the course of one day, on one suburban estate in yorkshire. The central running theme throughout the film concerns a select group of lost-souls who live on the same street; whose individual sensibilities and perceptions about themselves, others around them and the estate they live on lead them to each create their own unique realities; opening up a series of different takes on the same day.
The videos are non-linear in structure, picking up at different points in the day, with part 4 (wrecking Crew) running through the entirety, from beginning to end.
The aim was to make four music videos each unique and stand-alone; with their own feel and content, but which could still be put together to form a twenty minute short film. We had 4 days to shoot an ambitious (and disorientating) 18-page script; something which I feel was only possible due to the incredible dedication and talent of all the cast and crew, many of which who worked for free, and the generosity of all the people living on Brafferton arbor - who kindly allowed us onto their estate and into their houses throughout the filming period.
I hope you enjoy them.
(Credits at the end. This video is 20 mins long; you can watch the videos individually on my vimeo if preferred!)
