In May 2011 ZDF launched the new TV channel zdf.kultur in the ZDF family that is geared towards popular culture. The focus of the on-air design is a playful approach to culture. The strong links between the web and TV at zdf.kultur have opened up new possibilities for exchanging content. Typical patterns from web design are combined with animation possibilities and film portrayals used in TV design. The "DO IT YOURSELF IDENTS" show imaginative installations and campaigns devoted to cultural topics. Surprising and humorous scenes show how the respective protagonist/artist ‘lives’ culture. A number of labels, format packaging and promotion design items were also created using this concept. The work is an original and concise creative achievement by the Munich-based agency Luxlotusliner.
