When someone sneezes the common thing to say is "bless you," but no one says anything when we cough. So why is there a blessing after a sneeze? This can be traced back to the sixth century during the bubonic plague when Pope Gregory the Great would utter a "bless you" as a prayer to those who were sick.
God's blessings are many as we read in His Word, but one blessing to Abraham has implications for us today. Through God's example of blessing Abraham a blessing is more than something given, we are asked to be a blessing.
As we end 2018 and enter into 2019 let us see in His Word how to be a blessing, His blessing.
