The David Wax Museum returns to our house for another session. Their new album, "Everything is Saved" perhaps an oblique reference to Sam Quinn's album, "Everything is Broken" (that's just a guess) is a wild blend of folk and traditional Mexican music with fantastically ambitious compositions such as "Unfruitful" which hint at a dark vaudevillian milieu whilst simultaneously tacitly expressing their virtuosity.
So far this year they've been featured by NPR (All Things Considered, World Cafe, All Songs Considered), opened for the Avett Brothers on numerous occasions, appeared on the PBS NewsHour, and performed at the Newport Folk Festival. They're a busy bunch.
Here they are performing, "That's not True" in our hallway. This marks our 150th session.
