In one of the most evenly matched games all season, Battle Ground and Heritage slugged it out all evening at McKenzie Stadium Friday night. In fact, they still could not determine a winner after regulation and had to go to overtime. After Battle Ground scored on their first play of the overtime session on a 25 yard touchdown run by RB Trevor Ingram, the Timberwolves appeared to be on the ropes facing a 4th and 11 from the 13 when they were up. No problem however as Timberwolves QB Joey Cooper threw a perfect pass into the corner of the end zone were WR E’Lon Mack made a great play on the ball to haul in the 13 yard score. First year head coach Jack Hathaway gambled and went for two and the win with the home crowd behind him. It paid off as Cooper avoided a sack and found a wide open Rajheem Carie in the end zone for the 21-20 overtime win. Mack finished the night with 8 catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns. Ingram ran in a pair of scores for the Tigers and had 138 yards rushing on 20 carries in the loss.
