A group of students joined two researchers on a trip spanning two weeks, and dozens of islands, in Ecuador's Galapagos Archipelago.
Dr. Fred Caporaso and Dr. Peter Pritchard have been visiting their tortoise-heaven for three decades, and continued to do so in search of data & findings about the progress of these unique animals.
As hired by the university, It was my job to capture a very special part of the Chapman experience; The journey of learning that occurs in a group of students taken to an enchanting and inspired land, laden with environmental and socio-economic issues. Carrying more than 40lbs of equipment and shooting over 16 hours of high-definition footage, I did my best to capture the unique behavior of the endemic wildlife as well as the student reactions and emotions.
Though much of the footage is left out, and other obligations during my senior year forced me to leave it in a near rough-cut stage, the project still should be seen and enjoyed by those around the university. The sequences are as follows:
