Two dozen students were taped individually while improvising nature sounds or creating a hypothetical
soundscape. These improvisations invite us to reflect on communication beyond language. The participantsʼ
eyes have been covered so they can concentrate in the sound they emit, with no visual distractions. Additionally, this aesthetic alludes to the kidnapping, a common practice of crime in Mexico, as well as a metaphor about the limits of communication in our societies.
