Leonard Chin is the EC-Council's Director of Marketing, Conferences & Events as well as the Director for the Center of Advanced Security Training (CAST).
At EC-Council, Leonard's role as the Director of Marketing makes him responsible for all aspects of marketing for the group. He is responsible for designing and managing strategic marketing plans and initiatives, and is the key driver of all global marketing efforts.
He is concurrently being appointed as Director of Conferences and Events, where he manages both the production and profitability of the international series of conferences. In line with EC-Council's mission to evangelize information security awareness and skills globally, Leonard leads a conference team that brings EC-Council events to a growing list of global markets annually.
In addition, Leonard is the Managing Director for EC-Council’s Center of Advanced Security Training (CAST). A division that offers highly technical and advanced IT security training. He manages all aspects of the business unit, and while ensuring its profitability and market outreach, he also works closely with security authors, world-renowned experts, course developers and security vendors to design and develop very targeted training programs.
Prior to these appointments, he was the Director of Business Development, which requires him to develop and manage business partnerships across the globe and growing these businesses in line with EC-Council's vision. In addition to identifying global business opportunities, he is charged with leading the business development across various business units within EC-Council.
Leonard was instrumental in the conceptualization and organization of EC-Council's first Hacker Halted Conference in the United States in 2008 and has been the conference director for this conference series since then. From Myrtle Beach in 2008, he brought the event to Miami.
2011 will mark the 3rd year that Leonard will be directing this event in Miami. Following the success of Hacker Halted USA, he is charged with the design and production of another brand new technical conference series - TakeDownCon, which will make its debut in May in Dallas 2011. Having amassed in depth experience in organizing successful conferences and events, Leonard is serving on the board of advisors to all Hacker Halted conferences and EC-Council events globally.
Leonard possesses extensive field experience specializing in sales and marketing functions across industries including finance, conference, franchise, and as well as in training and education. With this experience, Leonard has successfully concluded key deals with numerous Fortune 500 companies. On the speaking front, Leonard was recently a keynote presenter at the first International Cyber and Economic Crimes (ICEC) Conference in 2010 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and also the conference chairman for the first ever Network Security session during CommunicAsia 2010, one of Asia’s largest ICT event that was held in Singapore.
