“That’s really important, for us to humanize folks that are going through this really challenging time in their lives.”
Sacramento State is committed to its community, and this week, our students demonstrated that commitment in a big way. On Wednesday and Thursday, about 300 Hornets participated in the Homeless Point-In-Time Count in Sacramento, a biennial census of Sacramento County’s homeless to help determine funding levels that support homelessness issues. The information gathered by the 1,000 or so volunteers who hit the streets will be analyzed by faculty researchers in Sac State’s Division of Social Work, with the results expected to be released in June 2019.
Thank you to our amazing students and faculty for their role in this important public service!
