In the Spring of 2011, my friends and I went searching for the fabled Simms Cemetery.
Simms Cemetery is part of the local lore of Athens, Ohio. It's said to be haunted by prisoners who were hung by a particularly ruthless local official named John Simms in the 19th century. Simms and his family are said to be buried in the woods outside of Athens, beneath the hanging tree where Simms' prisoners were executed, sometimes wrongfully. The cemetery is said to move of its own accord when someone is looking for it.
