On October 22, 2011, 15 members of Boston Food Bloggers (bostonfoodbloggers.com) and their guests set out for Ipswich, Massachusetts to tour the new Privateer rum distillery - and of course, to sample some rum!
Privateer president Andrew Cabot is six generations removed from an 18th century molasses smuggler and rum distiller of the same name. In fact, the elder Cabot was one of the very first to manufacture rum in the United States.
