1 John 4:12 reads, "No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us." I can't think of another verse in the Bible that conveys the importance of God's church being marked by Christ-like love for one another more than this one. First, our love has the potential to make the invisible God visible before the watching world. Second, our love is evidence of God's purpose through the Gospel being brought to fruition in the lives of His people. Simply put, the goal of God's amazing love is His set-apart people (the church) loving like Him (for His glory)! May our love for one another in the church point the world to the beauty and majesty of God and the reality of His Gospel, and may it be evidence of the Spirit at work in us making us more like the Son! To God be the glory!
