On Weds November 2nd, 2011 four brave people (2 Tibetan men, 1 Tibetan woman, and a western girl ;-) climbed on top of The Arc de Triomphe in Paris (164 feet up, aka 50 meters) and flew a huge "Free Tibet" banner, encouraging French President Sarkozy to negotiate with the Chinese Govt during the G20 Summit held in France this week.
It is clear that France is near to buckling under to China's wishes, and ignoring the three main principles of the French republic: Liberté, égalité, fraternité (French for Liberty, equality, fraternity/brotherhood) It is therefore incumbent upon all of us to remind President Sarkozy of his duty.....to respect the equal rights and humanity of others, above all else. (i.e. the statue of liberty in NY harbor was a gift from France...an allegorical figure of liberty herself ;-) So, by helping the Chinese Govt to work with the Tibetans for real autonomy and preservation of their culture, the French (and G20) prove their integrity.....or not. Lets hope they rise to the occasion, eh? :-)
