October 25, 1957 ~ February 3, 2019
Donald Nikolaj passed on to Glory on February 3, 2019 at the age of 61 years. He is survived by several cousins across North America. He cared deeply for his family and friends and will be remembered for his dry wit and his characteristic smirk when he was goading you on. Donald was predeceased by his father and mother, Richard & Arline, and his sister, Linda. A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church, 1162 Hudson Rd, West Kelowna, BC.
I know that my redeemer lives,
And that in the end He will stand on the earth.
And after my skin has been destroyed,
Yet in my flesh I will see God;
I myself will see him with my own eyes—
I, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!

“Oh, that my words were recorded, that they were written on a scroll, that they were inscribed with an iron tool on lead or engraved in rock forever! I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
The Gospel ~ John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen
