Artifacts from the daughter of John Brown were found by a descendant of Lucy Higgins of Santa Clara, California, in 2004. Written and produced by Jean Libby, then a community college history instructor, students and faculty enact the story of John Brown's family emigrating to California in 1864. Locations are the California History Center at De Anza College, the Saratoga History Museum, and Madronia Cemetery in Saratoga. Lori Deal, the descendant of Lucy Higgins, plays the part of her ancestor and Sarah Brown.
