Imagine you're a teenager in 2019 in Washington, D.C., the seat of the nation's power, standing right outside the White House. How do you feel? "We're living in a historical moment," says sophomore Nash W, a BFS delegate to the annual Quaker Youth Leadership Conference. This edition of THE LIFE, reported by sophomore Saad B., follows our seven BFS Upper School students throughout their Jan. 30-Feb. 1 weekend in the nation's capital city. Join them as they come together to learn about Quaker history and organizing around human rights, wanting to change the world, the experience of a "gigantic sleepover," the art of conversation, and the simple joy of going out for doughnuts.
