The Tallulah has a sort of mythical status in the boating world. Six hundred steps grant you entry to a deep chasm with a fifty foot waterfall crashing off the gorge walls in a magnificent rainbow. Your first rapid, and one of the hardest, awaits you twenty yards below the steps. As you put on your spray skirt, you can see the mist rising from around the corner signalling Oceana. Three hundred vertical feet, and more than a dozen rapids later, and you finally arrive at the lake, weary from only a miles journey down the mountain.
